The morning routine for business owners, that makes me feel on top of the world, until I step on Lego...😖

I am always full of energy. I freaking love my life and my business, but if it wasn't for how I set myself up each day, I'd be a grumpy arse.

I know many business owners don't bother with a morning routine, but for me it gears me up for better ideas, more creative thinking to overcome problems, believe in myself to an unstoppable level, keeps me productive AF, and helps me make more money!

☀️I wake up at 6am to 6.30am, just before my son wakes up.

I was part of the 5am crew, but sleep is way more important than an hour of silence. As long as I have at least five minutes of peace to have my morning wee, I’m happy.

☕I don’t drink caffeine for the first 90+ mins of my day.

Doing just this simple thing has changed my energy levels. I don’t need a pick-me-up before the school run and I have consistent energy throughout the day. No more afternoon naps for me, unless I want one.

🚿 I take a cold shower

Probably the craziest thing I do in the morning, but since we've been in 2025, I have a cold shower for about a minute before my warm shower every morning. If I can take a cold shower I can do anything!

🍳I avoid sugar unless I have eaten a truck-ton of protein.

Unless you have protein in your belly, your high sugar levels from that biscuit on an empty stomach are going to make you feel like dog shit in about an hour. Eat some eggs. Unless you’re allergic.

♫ I listen and dance to music while making my son’s breakfast.

I don’t ‘full-on’ rave to Shy FX & Beyoncé every morning, but I listen to enough music to lift my mood and my vibe.

🚶🏻‍♀️I drag my son to walk the 20 mins to/from school as much as I can, or we silent drive.

Walking back from the school run listening to nothing but the birds means I get to move my body & get my brain into gear. The plus side is that I get to have the best conversations with him and there will be a time when he won’t hold my hand anymore (sob!)

📒 I write (or journal as most people call it) when I get home from the school run, before I start work.

I would love to write first thing and sometimes I manage it, but most days it’s when the school run is done. I love to write three A4 sides, but if that’s not possible, writing for 5 minutes & brain-dumping is enough. It’s a non-negotiable for me. It allows me to consistently be my own biggest cheerleader. And then, I meditate for at least 5 minutes...GAME-CHANGER.

📝 I use my KickStart Formula™ to be productive AF.

The KickStart Formula™ is a game-changer for busy mums, and even more so if you run a business too. I can’t start my working day without using it and I get to tick my priorities off my to-do list, every single day.
